Dmitry Shevkun
Chief of Party, Kyrgyz Republic
Dmitry Shevkun presently serves as IFES Chief of Party in the Kyrgyz Republic. Previously, he worked as Deputy Chief of Party in Kyrgyzstan, as well as Senior Civic Education and Elections Specialist for IFES in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. Shevkun has over 13 years of program development and management experience throughout Central Asia and the Caucasus. His portfolio includes technical elections assistance, NGO support, civic education, and youth programs. Having first joined IFES in 2000, he has authored numerous manuals, textbooks, and training modules.
In 2009, USAID/Central Asian Republics honored Shevkun with an award for outstanding service. Shevkun holds a degree in Physics from Turkmen State University. He fluently speaks English and Russian. He is a prolific writer and photographer.
