Symposium on Electoral Legislation in Armenia

IFES is co-hosting a symposium on electoral reform and elections administration in Armenia from November 22nd and 23rd in Yerevan. The symposium will address Armenia’s current draft electoral code legislation and provide regional and international perspective to Armenia’s overall electoral development. Representatives of the National Assembly, the Central Election Commission, civil society, political parties, the Government, the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Armenia and the international community will attend and participate in this important symposium of discussion and debate. The symposium is jointly sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development, the Council of Europe, the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

Presenters will include Davit Harutyunyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly of RA and electoral experts from around the world. The symposium is designed in a working group format to provide the opportunity for participants to actively discuss international perspectives in election administration, political and campaign finance, use of administrative resources, electoral disputes and adjudication and election fraud prevention.
